Liya Arefaine, age 24, passed away July 20, 2020 due to health complications. She was born March 19, 1996 in Washington DC to her mother, Genet Tesema and her father, Arefaine Kassa.
Liya was a selfless, resilient young woman who was loved by many. She had an innate ability to brighten up any room and anyone’s mood due to her infectious laugh and her heartwarming smile. One day, our thoughts of Liya will bring tears of joy, not grief.
